When Rahman is in form, I guess he is peerless, this is just mesmerizing stuff.  I couldn’t stop listening to the Manmohini song, especially the opening loop ‘thom thom thana thom thana’. What with the weather making me wish my train ride to office never stops, the pleasant wind, the slight drizzles and this wonderful song, I just wish I can freeze those moments forever.

A R Rahman is back with Subhash Ghai for this one, Yuvvraaj, after the wonderful Taal and forgettable Kisna (Rahman composed couple of tracks only), the expectations are high for this album. There are quite a few mixed reviews to this album but I guess Rahman is back in form, for me , 4 of the tracks felt like gems. Only time will tell whether this album is great or just below greatness :)

Personally, I feel these four songs are just classics! Wah Rahman Wah!!

Tu Meri Dost Hain

Tu Muskura

Manmohini Morey

Dil Ka Rishta

I only wish Subhash Ghai is in form this time around and does justice to the wonderful songs that Rahman has composed!

I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money.

But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.

If you let my daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you.

But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

- Liam Neeson in Taken.

I had seen this trailer early this year and then completely forgot about it, Liam Neeson is just awesome in this one, love the way he says this dialog, it gave me the chills!

Some updates from the period I went missing from the blog -

It has been over one month since I got engaged, it has been a wild wild ride, for the first time in my life, day after day I felt I did not have enough time, the action items at office kept growing, the calls that I had to make were waiting, the bills waiting too (note to self – need to work on time management!) and no matter how many hours I spent at office, my action items never reduced. :-(

Every married person I met since I got engaged almost always told the same thing to me, to enjoy the period before marriage (and thats about the only time one can enjoy!) ! Enjoying I am!

Surprisingly, I had just watched 2 movies in the last 45 days, a personal record I guess :-) and both with G3, my experiences follows -

Saroja – was fun to watch, especially with G3 jumping out of the seat laughing every other moment! Being on our first outing together, we were like Siamese twins all the time. Venkat Prabhu (director) has got talent and it shows, his strength in both this movie and the previous one has been coming up with very likable and believable characters.

Hellboy 2 - this was just a filler, tickets were sold out for other movies that we wanted to watch. I like Hellboy (the first one) very much, have seen it quite a few times. So I was hoping that this one would be good too, what with all the critics going gaga about all the imagery and vision of Guillermo Del Torro. However, this one turned out to be disappointing for me, it was not that much fun, the jokes fell flat and somehow the whole movie felt pointless to me. I guess Guillermo got carried away by all the creature success he received from Pans Labyrinth.

And then 1000 elephants album came at a time when I desperately wanted romantic lyrics for messaging :-) , the album is pure gold, beautiful lyrics and is a very apt album and film for crazy people (read as people crazy in love).

If there is one thing that I realized in the past one month, that would be the fact that Chennai is not the place to be for couples, very soon you run out of places to go. Besides engaged couples have strict SLA to adhere to, which includes periodic updates (if you are the girl) and strict reporting time back home. So when the question ( ‘where are we going this weekend’ ) eventually comes there is really not much one can say! No wonder the beaches are crowded (more so in places with lesser exposure to the cruel lights :-) ).

Other stuff that I have done in this one month that i haven’t done before include
-messaging like crazy
-paying attention to lyrics and forgetting where I am
-coming up with a new vocabulary to mislead people into thinking that we are discussing something else
-renaming contact names on phones

this last one is fun, you should try it, if you are in love or married, depending on what stage your love is, you can rename your girlfriends/wifes contact as angel or nuisance etc, so that when she actually calls, your phone says ‘Nuisance calling’ and you can be prepared :-)
